Spotting Scam Jobs Before They Spot You

Oct 5, 2026 · 5 min

Seven warning signs every worker should know.

Warning sign one: anyone asking you to pay to unlock work. Beyond your one-time minimum deposit, legitimate tasks never require payment. Sign two: promises of guaranteed or fixed daily income — real platforms never promise fixed reward timing.

Signs three to five: vague instructions with no clear proof requirement, requests to move the conversation off-platform, and tasks that ask you to create multiple accounts or refer yourself. All three are prohibited on GIG DUCK and usually end in a ban, not a payment.

Signs six and seven: pressure tactics ('only 2 slots left, act now!') from strangers, and requests for personal documents as 'proof'. Your proof shows the completed task — never your ID or bank details. When in doubt, report the task to gigduckbd@gmail.com before you start.
